$100 – a K-12 school tour of the Diabetes Research Center for a workshop on diabetes and ground-breaking research on diabetes underway here in Hawaiʻi
$1,000 – a summer lab experience for a student to work in a laboratory studying diabetes
$10,000 – a piece of equipment purchased that is used daily by the Diabetes Research Center’s faculty and students
$25,000 – a graduate student to train in a laboratory studying diabetes for a year
Your Gift Makes a Difference
There are many ways to make an impact in UH Mānoa’s Diabetes Research Center for the benefit of students, faculty and community health. Here are a few popular options:
Memorial Giving: Honor a family member or loved one by making a contribution in their name.
Annual Undergraduate Scholarship: Gifts of $1,500 or more can be designated specifically for undergraduate scholarships. Gifts received by calendar year end (December) are awarded to deserving students interested in gaining insights into diabetes for the following academic year.
Named Endowed Graduate Fellowship: Endowed at a minimum level of $100,000, these fellowships can be named after the donor or designee. Endowed fellowships award annually in perpetuity.
Named endowed opportunities are also available for post-doctoral fellowships, faculty research funds, distinguished professorships or a directorship.
Other opportunities to make a difference includes giving for specific needs of equipment, labs, and research projects.
